1. Sunday School Coffee Morning
    The annual Sunday School coffee morning took place on Saturday 3rd February from 10.00am to 12.00 noon. Lots of people, young and old, were there and the Sunday School teachers were delighted with the sum of £594 that was raised.
  2. Daffodil Tea
    A Daffodil Tea will take place on Saturday 10th March from 1.00pm to 3.00pm. Tickets can be purchased in the Hall after morning service. Donations of home baking and items for the £1 stall (unwrapped please) will be gratefully appreciated.
  3. Stonehouse Male Voice Choir
    The Girls' Brigade held a fund raising event on Tuesday 23rd January. Entertainment was provided by the Stonehouse Male Voice Choir. The fantastic sum of £586 was raised.
  4. Christmas Coffee Afternoon
    This took place on Saturday 25th November from 1.00 to 3.00pm. There was a great turnout and, to date, £1566 was raised.
  5. Silent Auction
    This took place on Saturday 30th September. Items were handed in during the week for sorting by the Fundraising Committee. Lots of people attended and the fantastic sum of £1,046 was raised.
  6. Lifeboat Coffee Morning
    The RNLI Coatbridge Committee held its Annual Coffee Morning in the church hall on Saturday 19th August. The Committee would like to thank everyone who contributed and the sum raised was £755.
  7. Dress Down Sunday & Sponsored Walk
    This took place on Sunday 27th August. Dress Down Sunday realised a total of £181.55 and the Sponsored Walk total so far is £982.50. Many thanks to all those who took part and contributed.
  8. Summer Fayre
    The Summer Fayre took place on Saturday 10th June. A great time was had by all and the excellent sum of £1535 was raised for Church funds.
  9. Shine Musical Theatre Group
    The young people from the Shine Musical Theatre Group provided us with a superb evening of entertainment on Friday 19th May. After expenses, the sum raised was £610.
  10. Christian Aid Big Sing
    The Big Sing for Christian Aid took place in the Church on Sunday 14th May at 7.30pm. The total raised for Christian Aid by New St Andrew's was £1323 - £1000 through envelopes, £250 from the Big Sing and £73 from the Quiz. Our thanks to all who contributed.
  11. Boys' Brigade Parents' Evening
    This took place on 5th May. Three boys were were presented with the President's Badge - Loius Beattie, Craig McKee and Adam McRae. Also, six boys were presented with the Queen's Badge - Graham Arbuckle, Robert Ballantyne, Alastair Peat, Ewan Ross, David Stewart and Scott Thomson.
  12. Coffee Morning
    Took place on Saturday 25 March from 10.00am to 12.00 noon. The theme was Scarves and Bags and tickets were priced £2.50. Donations of baking and items for the £1 stall were gratefully accepted. The sum raised was £520.
  13. BB Cabaroke Evening
    A Cabaroke evening (Cabaret, karaoke and dancing) was held in the Gartsherrie Club on Saturday 4th March. The Boys' Brigade would like to thank all those who supported this event when the sum raised was £1405.
  14. Souper Sunday
    Sunday 26th February was a special act of worship, an initiative of the Church of Scotland HIV Programme. A retiring offering to assist with this work amounted to £385 and a simple snack of soup and bread was served in the hall after worship.
  15. Thinking Day 2017
    The Thinking Day Service for 2017 took place on Sunday 19 February. All the youth organisations were present and the theme for the service was symbols. Grace Kirkpatrick and Christie Cook were presented with certificates for naming and designing a challenge badge.
  16. BB Vaulting Competition
    The company section won the Battalion vaulting competition. The team members were Ewan Ross, Scott Thomson, Callum Nelson, Robert Ballantyne, Alastair Peat, Adam McRae, George Duigan and Zac Roberts under the coaching of Jim Findlay and Stuart McDougall.
  17. Guild Commemorative Badges
    During Guild Week, Moira Kyle and Jean Reid were presented with commemorative badges recognising 60 years each as Guild members. Both Moira and Jean have been, and continue to be, active members of our Guild and we congratulate them on their loyalty and support.

    This took place on Saturday 4th February from 10.00am until 12.00 noon, £2 adults, £1 children. Donations of baking and items for the £1 stall (unwrapped) were gratefully received. The fantastic sum of £630 was raised.
  19. BB Scripture Knowledge
    On Monday 30th January the company section won the Battalion Scripture Knowledge competition for the first time. Well done to the team.
  20. Boys' Brigade 5 a side
    On Saturday 28th January the Junior section won the Battalion 5 a side competition. They topped a four team group and won a semi final before facing the 1st Airdrie company in the final, winning 4 - 3 on penalties.
  21. Quiz
    The Fundraising Committee held a Quiz for the first event of 2017. This took place on Saturday 28th January at 7.30pm. The event was well supported and £163.50 was raised for church funds.
  22. BB Battalion Cross Country
    The Company section won this competition. In the Junior event the team came third. There was a second and a third in the Intermediate event. The Senior team was placed first. The Company were the over all winners. Four boys have been invited to run in the national cross country competition.
  23. Reverse Advent Calendar
    Each day from 1st to 25th December instead of opening an Advent Calendar, the congregation was asked to daily put aside an item suitable for Home Comforts, The Community Food Bank or Women's Aid and bring these to the Church by 1st January 2017.
  24. Christingle Services
    The Christingle Services took place on Tuesday 20th December. In the afternoon it was the service for Drumpark School and in the evening it was the service for Greenhill Primary and the wider community. A collection was taken for Children in Need.
  25. BB Battalion Swimming Gala
    The boys had a fantastic night at the gala at Bellshill Pool with one boy from the Junior section winning a silver medal. The Company section won two gold and two silver medals and were second place in the relay. As a result of these achievements, the Company won the over all competition.
  26. Memorial Service
    This annual event took place in the Memorial Chapel on Sunday 11th December at 3pm. This was an opportunity for those who have experienced loss or bereavement to come along and spend time with others in a similar situation. There was a short act of worship followed by fellowship in the hall.
  27. Joint Carol Service
    Our Joint Carol Service took place this year in St Patrick's Church on Sunday 11th December. There was a great turnout from both congregations. Both church choirs performed items separately and jointly. There was a collection for Christian Aid which raised £414.
  28. Christmas Coffee Afternoon
    Our final event for 2016 took place on Saturday 19th November from 1pm to 3pm. Stalls included Homebaking, Crafts/Gifts, Floral arrangements, £1 stall, Gifts and Cards. The sum raised was £1,333 which was great. Mary Shanks won the cake and Nicola Shanks and Christine Nelson won the Santas.
  29. Grounds Tidy Up
    The Great New St Andrew's Rake Offs took place on Saturday 12th November and Saturday 26th November from 9.30 to 12 noon. Tidy up of the grounds followed by refreshments.
  30. Organ Recital
    At the invitation of the Lanarkshire Society of Organists an organ recital was given by Andrew Forbes, Organist and Master of Music at Glasgow Cathedral. The date was Saturday 15th October at 12.30pm.
  31. Youth Dedication Service
    The Youth Dedication Service for the Boys' Brigade, Girls' Brigade, Girl Guides and Sunday School took place on Sunday 2nd October. Fiona got her apron on to lead the service and the young people took part through prayer, reading and song.
  32. Boys' Brigade Battalion
    The Battalion Communion and Dedication service was hosted here in New St Andrew's on Sunday 2nd October at 7pm.
  33. Harvest
    Harvest Sunday took place on 18th September and this year we devoted our efforts to raising funds for our two charities - Coatbridge Community Foodbank and Home Comforts. We raised the fantastic sum of £750 from offerings, donations and buying from the Harvest stall.
  34. RNLI
    The Annual Coffee Morning took place in the Church Hall on Saturday 20th August. The committee would like to thank all who supported the event and the amount raised was £935. Georgina Paterson correctly guessed the birthday of the doll which was 25th December.
  35. Breakfast Church
    For four Sundays in July we had Breakfast Church which went really well. We had fairly good attendances and it was a nice opportunity to share breakfast along with a short and informal act of worship together.
  36. Christian Aid
    The total amount collected in Coatbridge was £5943.06. This involved money being collected from 12 churches and various events. Lots of willing people took part to raise this money and the committee thank your for all your help.
